Our parish family is about to experience a one-evening retreat which will “open the door” for the Incarnate Christ to be felt and lived always, no matter the obstacle. A man who has been blind for nearly all of his life will present the mission. Fr. Mike Joly - a parish pastor, director of retreats and Catholic recording artist - will open up whether it is possible to sense the deeper and truer significance of the Christ Event in the first place. He will emphasize the power of God’s will in union with ours and will challenge our product-oriented mindset with the fruitful Kingdom-oriented heart and perspective.
Our retreat evening will begin at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, January 7, and will conclude at 9:30 PM. Fr. Mike invites all the faithful in our parish, from teenagers up through the most mature in our faith family, to attend our retreat evening. He will draw on music and interacting dynamics to help reveal the real possibility for every day and night throughout the year to be a Holy Day and Night. Fr. Mike will make use of sacred scripture, and the writings and teachings of some great leaders in our Catholic faith. He will show how it is possible for us to become instruments of the Incarnation ourselves.
The liturgical season of Advent contains a revolutionary spirituality! When we enter into the holy season of Advent with intention and desire, then the true meaning of Christmas, and the true meaning of Lent, and the true power of Easter bless our lives. May this Advent open up that blessing for each one of us and our families.
