Under the theme “Ambassadors of Hope: Together Against Human Trafficking,” the XI World Day of Prayer and Reflection Against Human Trafficking, will be celebrated on February 8, 2025. This annual day, inaugurated by Pope Francis in 2015, aligns with the feast of St. Josephine Bakhita, a powerful symbol of resilience and liberation from slavery. Inspired by the Pope’s call to be “pilgrims of peace and apostles of hope,” this year’s event occurs in the context of the Jubilee Year 2025. It seeks to promote prayer, reflection, and action to combat human trafficking, supporting victims, survivors, and vulnerable populations such as women, children, migrants, and refugees.
Together, we are called to be Ambassadors of Hope, embracing compassion, solidarity, and transformative action to build a future where human dignity is upheld. Saint Josephine Bakhita, pray for us!
